Our mission is to catalyse collaboration amongst regional disease surveillance networks across the world in order to improve their capacity to detect and control the spread of epidemics. We aim to help prevent pandemics using the following strategic objectives:
CORDS facilitates cross-border communication and encourages sharing of information through meetings, workshops, training programme and joint projects to improve regional network capacity.
CORDS seeks to develop and encourage collaboration between the human, animal and agricultural sectors to achieve a holistic approach to infectious disease surveillance.
CORDS serves as a global platform to test and scale-up innovations and approaches to disease surveillance and share them across networks and regions.
CORDS works to promote the development of national capacities and new regional networks in areas of high risk.
